Brandon/Madison Central Soccer Playoff Game Jan 31 2004
Brandon won their district in a shootout against Northwest Rankin and as a result hosted Southhaven in the first round of the state soccer playoffs on Monday 1/26/2004. Brandon completly dominated Southhaven and won by a score of 9-0. They advanced to the second game on Sat. 1/31/2004 against Madison Central at Madison Central.
Brandon took an early 1-0 lead in the first half but Madison Central came back and tied the game at 1-1 just before halftime. Madison Central jumped out to a 2-1 lead in 2-nd half. Brandon missed several scoring opportunities in 1-st half, and also in 2-nd half, but could not get the breaks that would give them an advantage.
They came out on the losing end by a 4-1 final score. They did not play as well as they did in the first game against Southhaven and seemed to lack their normal game intensity they had in other games. They posted a final season record of 18-3-2.
