Soccer Weekend Huntsville, Sept 6-7, 2003
Before I tell you about Huntsville weekend----a note about football! Brandon traveled to CLinton for a Friday night
football game on Sept 5, 2003. Brandon entered the game with two goals in mind: Stop Clinton's running
back sensation, Paul Cavett, and rebound from last week's stunning 12-7 loss to rival Pearl. The Bulldogs accomplished
both by limiting Cavett to 125 tough rushing yards and one touchdown on 19 carries. And as a result, Brandon walked
away with a 14-7 victory before a crowd estimated at more than 4,000 at Roy Burkett Field. Daniel had a great punting night,
averaging 40 yards on 4 punts.
Now to our Huntsville weekend.....Emily had a game Sat. morning so we went to her game and got to see her cheer a lot. Keith,
Steph, Kasey and Daniel got in around lunch time and we visited till we had to leave for Daniel's 4:00pm soccer game. Kasey
and Emily provide the cheerleading! Daniel scored the first goal of game as they took a 1-0 lead. They ended up on the short
end of score 2-1. They came back next day on Sun. and beat a good Birmingham team by the score of 2-1. It was a great weekend
that we all enjoyed. Florence is next football game next Friday and they'll be home for soccer next weekend with no traveling
except for us.
